Students discover what’s important to them about the college experience. Students can identify colleges where they will thrive and graduate, helping them look beyond standard selection criteria to discover deeper preferences—what matters most—as they explore college options. Description
College Preferences Assessment (DIY+Report) Service
- Students work alone (or with parents) to go through a list of several options of characteristics that best represent what they are looking for in a college and rank them in 4 different categories. As an example, some of the options include desired college activities, culture, types of majors, geographic locations and many, many more characteristics. This activity will be extremely helpful in narrowing down college list of colleges to apply to. This helps to reduce precious time needed to find the perfect fit college where they can thrive and be successful.
- Once they’ve completed this task, students will submit their information through the system to be reviewed by our coaching staff.
- A coach will provide feedback via email, based on the information submitted by the student. The coach may elect to follow up with the student via phone call or audio call online to clarify any of the student’s selected choices, however this is at the coach’s discretion. This service does not offer the guaranteed one-on-one coaching session as the other option provides.
- Once the coach has completed reviewing the student’s choices, your student will receive a print out of all of their selections/characteristics to use in deciding on which colleges to apply for.
Since we strongly recommend that students complete an assessment each year of high school, we offer a discount on this service for repeat clients of this service.
As students learn and grow in their understanding of what’s expected in college, their choices may change a lot from year to year. It’s important to see the progression and to understand what’s truly important to the student particularly before senior year.
